The sensation
Ballooning is calm and almost silent — you stand still and the landscape moves. Paragliding is active: you launch on foot, you feel the air, and turns can be as gentle or as lively as you ask for.
Timing and effort
Balloon flights are pre-dawn and finish mid-morning. Paragliding runs morning or late afternoon and involves a drive out plus some walking on uneven ground.
Scenery
Balloons cross the flat Haouz plain with the Atlas on the horizon. Paragliding puts you above the foothills themselves, closer to the terrain.
Who each suits
- • Families with younger children and mixed mobility: balloon
- • Travellers who want adrenaline and an active experience: paragliding
- • Groups who want to be together the whole time: balloon
- • Photographers after mountain terrain up close: paragliding
Cancellation risk
Both are weather-dependent. Balloons are sensitive to surface wind at dawn; paragliding needs the right wind direction for a specific launch. Book either early in your stay.
